About Our Crazy Crew

We're not your typical family of five.  It's the little subtleties that make us unique.  I am a born and bread southern girl raised in the great state of Texas.  My husband is a northerner from the cheese-state of Wisconsin.  We all have unique personalities and passions that create our crazy-chaotic-yet-fun family environment that is absolutely anything but boring.

What makes us "not-so-ordinary" is primarily what this blog page will be dedicated to.  I'm a high-school CTE teacher with a love for cooking, crafting, traveling, adventures, and a knack for finding easy pinterest/diy wins to make even the busiest-most-non-crafty mom or dad shine.  I'm thrifty.  Some say that's code for cheap.  I like getting everything for less.  This includes clothes, shopping, vacationing, etc. I'm going to pass my tips onto you.  This blog will be random, but hopefully provide lots of useful fun activities, facts, and adventurers that you may have been interested in but to afraid too try.

In addition, we're a special needs family.  Two out of the five of us have special needs although all of us are needy.  My daughter has a rare genetic disorder called Smith Magenis Syndrome.  When Shaylee was diagnosed there were only 600 known cases of SMS in the World.  In short, that means every cell in her body is missing a small portion of the 17th chromosome.  With something as complex as the body, that is a significant number of missing pieces.  It can cause a unique set of problems, both mentally & physically.  I'll blog more about her condition in the future.  However if you are intrigued now, you may find more information at prisms.org. My son is autistic.  Needless to say, we understand the struggles that special needs families go through first-hand.

As I stated before, topics will be random, fun, informative, and hopefully helpful. For example, I'll post some ideas for class valentine wins as well as recipe ideas with my brand-new Instant pot.  We gotta stick together to make life easier.  During the school-year, life is extremely busy with family and students.  Post will not be frequent.  Please forgive me.  With the state of the internet, comments may be disabled or deleted as there are trolls everywhere. If this happens, you'll understand why.
